Notably more convenient, relaxing and personable, this is a considerate feature that remains untouched. In light of the recent renovation, not a drop of charm has been detracted from the classically poised setting and yet, more life and vigor have been instilled into the immaculately restored building, magnifying its regal eminence. In particular, the Junior Suite was extremely spacious, highlighted by heated bathroom floors, a thoughtful sitting area and all the amenities of “home.” My suggestion would be to reserve a room facing the famed Hyde Park, which is only steps away, presenting the perfect opportunity for a sunrise jog or sunset stroll. For additional therapeutic environments, the hotel is also in the midst of completing a cutting-edge spa facility.
A phenomenal setting for relaxation and impeccable cocktails before or after dinner is the Library Bar. Aptly named for its formal style, the room is swaddled in plush finishes and outfitted with opulent seating. The passionate servers offer their incredible depth of knowledge in spirits with enthusiasm as they help you browse the impressive array of gin variations. Steps away, the Celeste is an ornate dining room with a stunning glass atrium-like ceiling that emanates an abundance of natural light, projecting a dreamy sparkle from the oversized chandeliers. Here you can enjoy any meal of the day including a coveted afternoon tea. In the evening, this beautifully arranged restaurant serves flawlessly prepared traditional French fare with English flare. It is absolute perfection, absolutely English, and absolutely Lanesborough.
I highly recommend this destination for couples, individuals, and families, as it is suited for business as well as leisure and very conveniently located in proximity to Hyde Corner and the city’s best offerings. The Lanesborough is a very special place that been recently inducted as a part of the exclusive Oetker Collection, marking the luxury brand’s premier extension into the UK region. The entire hotel emits a prestigious aura and exudes a formal elegance, through which you can immediately sense the high standard of hospitality. Returning to the Lanesborough after nearly two decades, I am just as enamored and I hold this location in high regard as one of my top selections in London. Oetker’s Signature Collection is a string of pearls and this hotel is the treasured addition that adds immense value to the entire chain.
