Tuscany - Italy
Tuscany: This region is characterized by the rolling hills as far as your eyes can see, the splendid cuisine, the wine, and the serenity. Val d' Orcia was one of the most scenic areas in Tuscany - a place where one forgets where they are or where they are going, captivated by beauty and simplicity of Tuscan life.
At Castiglion del Bosco I experienced a magnificent stay. The restored Borgo is completely self-contained and has absolutely any amenity desirable: 2 restaurants, the a La Prairie Spa, a wonderful shop, a garden where most vegetables are harvested for both restaurants, a church, swimming pool, gym, a winery, trails for hiking, a children's club and even the ruins of a castle dating back to 11th century.
I was fortunate enough to stay in one of their villas located about a 5 minute drive from the main Borgo, which was comprised of 3 different buildings: the main house with 3 bedrooms, an enormous kitchen, living room and 5 bathrooms along with a another fantastic house featuring a separate bedroom, 5 an impeccable bathroom as well as a gorgeous pool overlooking the vista of vineyards. The property is owned by one of the sons of the Ferragamo family and no detail has been spared. This is a genuine and authentic Tuscan villa in proximity of the Borgo where the staff delivers delicious pastries, freshly baked bread, yogurts, eggs, cereal and anything by request. To have breakfast on your own porch overlooking the rolling hills, your own personal vineyard is truly breathtaking. For an “Under the Tuscan Sun” experience, Castiglion del Bosco is the place to stay.
The distinctive and one the most enjoyable attributes is the staff of Castiglion del Bosco. They exceeded my expectations and made my experience truly unforgettable. Thank you, Natalie and Chiara. I recommend this property for couples, families, family reunions as well as weddings and anniversaries - though the possibilities are endless when you are surrounded by such beauty and serenity.
